Mrs. Ross taught my daughter to Read, Spell and Write

Last year I was so frustrated with my daughter's progress in school. She was below basic in every area, but they weren't offering us any help. I finally got fed up one night when my daughter crumpled up her homework cause she didn't know how to do it.  I looked up reading tutors on Yelp and found Mrs. Ross. We got on her waiting list and in a few months she called us with an opening. Mrs. Ross made learning fun and easy to understand. Mrs. Ross told me that my daughter is a hands-on learner, and everything Mrs. Ross does has some kind of physical touch or movement so it really got through to her learning style. We practiced every day with the materials she sent home with us like CD's, songbooks, , games, books, a magnetic spelling board and more stuff. My daughter is reading, spelling and writing and so proud of herself. Thank you, Mrs. Ross. We really appreciate everything you do.

Crying tears of JOY!

 I'm tearing up as I write this, because I was afraid for my daughter's future before we found Mrs. Jeannie Ross. First, she was able to interpret the psychologist's report and explain what every test really meant (they didn't do that at the school meeting) and exactly what this meant in terms of my child's learning style/ needs. Then she assessed her and created a custom program, and from that point on Yvette really took off. The specialist at school couldn't believe how fast she was learning and asked what we had done. If I had relied on the school, she would still be stuck reading 1st grade books. Now my daughter with dyslexia is reading at grade level and LOVES to read for pleasure. Help for Learning to Read

 My daughter knew some of the sounds, but she couldn't blend words or read like other kids in her class. It just got worse as time went on but the teachers just said we had to wait. She was receiving some extra help at school, but it was taking way too long. I finally decided to look for a tutor and found Mrs. Ross. She recognized signs of dyslexia that were later confirmed by testing. It runs in the family, which we didn't know before. It's shameful that we couldn't be helped by the school, but that is the case.
