Reading Specialist Tutor for Children and Teens

We went to our son's teacher conference and were told that he would probably need to repeat kindergarten! The teacher said that he had no interest in learning to read. He hadn't learned any of the sight words and couldn't seem to remember his letter names and sounds. I knew something was terribly wrong, but I didn't know what it was until I spoke with Mr. Ross. Her assessment showed that he was two years behind where he should be and that the way they were teaching him at the school he attends didn't match up with his learning style.  She identified certain brain skills that he needed to master before he would ever be able to blend sounds together. After just one lesson he began to remember what she taught him!! We are not going to have to repeat kindergarten after all now that he is taking lessons at Best San Diego Reading Tutor. Thank you Mrs. Ross for all you have done. Here is our recommendation. Last year Trevor had trouble paying attention to his teacher in school. The large class of kids was very distracting for him. In fact the teacher suggested that he might need to repeat first grade. But I was afraid of what that might do to his self-esteem. That is when we found Mrs. Ross and her incredible reading program. She had his complete attention with her songs and movements and games. She brought his reading up to grade level so quickly which really gave him confidence. I also chose to have Trevor do the optional  hands-on spelling program. Spelling with the magnetic tiles held his attention, and the spelling rules made so much sense to him and went along with his reading lessons.
