Before we met Jeannie our son was struggling and discouraged with his reading. He felt like there was something wrong with him which broke my heart. Help for Learning to Read

 My daughter knew some of the sounds, but she couldn't blend words or read like other kids in her class. It just got worse as time went on but the teachers just said we had to wait. She was receiving some extra help at school, but it was taking way too long. I finally decided to look for a tutor and found Mrs. Ross. She recognized signs of dyslexia that were later confirmed by testing. It runs in the family, which we didn't know before. It's shameful that we couldn't be helped by the school, but that is the case. Homeschooling with Mrs. Ross

 We chose to homeschool our son, but it proved to be quite a challenge. The facilitating teacher in the group we belonged to was not an expert in teaching children with dyslexia or ADHD. We did our best in kindergarten and first grade, but Jackson was still unable to tell us what sounds the letters were making. I knew that I had to get help. I found Mrs. Ross online and asked for a Zoom meeting. She became my homeschooling consultant, preparing lesson plans and custom materials for our son, and then teaching me how to teach him myself. I was able to administer the instruction in little portions throughout the day to work around his ADHD. I could see for the first time that this was the right program for him.
