From Below Basic to a Solid PROFICIENT

I know standardized tests aren't a great indicator of learning, it is a basis for personal achievement...After 2 years with Jeannie Ross (AKA World's Best Tutor) including a year of homeschool... Sofie moved from a low "Below Basic" in Language Arts to a solid "Proficient" score and in her reading comprehension she scored in a much higher percentile. 2 smartest things I ever did: find Jeannie and pull Sofie out for a year! Crying tears of JOY!

 I'm tearing up as I write this, because I was afraid for my daughter's future before we found Mrs. Jeannie Ross. First, she was able to interpret the psychologist's report and explain what every test really meant (they didn't do that at the school meeting) and exactly what this meant in terms of my child's learning style/ needs. Then she assessed her and created a custom program, and from that point on Yvette really took off. The specialist at school couldn't believe how fast she was learning and asked what we had done. If I had relied on the school, she would still be stuck reading 1st grade books. Now my daughter with dyslexia is reading at grade level and LOVES to read for pleasure. Help for Learning to Read

 My daughter knew some of the sounds, but she couldn't blend words or read like other kids in her class. It just got worse as time went on but the teachers just said we had to wait. She was receiving some extra help at school, but it was taking way too long. I finally decided to look for a tutor and found Mrs. Ross. She recognized signs of dyslexia that were later confirmed by testing. It runs in the family, which we didn't know before. It's shameful that we couldn't be helped by the school, but that is the case. Mrs. Ross knew the right teaching methods that made everything fall into place and gave my daughter self-esteem and confidence. We are really thankful.  Richard Bolton, San Diego
